Simon was born in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, England, which is where he developed his distinctive accent, and at the tender age of thirteen, he made the bold decision to emigrate to Perth, Western Australia, with his family.
As he entered his twenties, Simon discovered his passion for acting and began performing in amateur productions, eventually returning to the United Kingdom to pursue his dream of becoming a professional performer. He enrolled in the prestigious University of East Anglia's Performing Arts program, where he graduated in 1996.
Following his studies, Simon relocated to London and spent the next two years touring the UK and Europe, performing iconic Shakespearean roles such as MacBeth and The Tempest with the esteemed Jactito Theatre company. This experience laid the foundation for his subsequent work in film, television, and theatre, during which he collaborated with esteemed organizations like the BBC, the Discovery channel, and various fringe theatre companies, including Two Way Mirror and Black Dog.
Simon's impressive resume also includes a role in the 2006 film adaptation of The Da Vinci Code, directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou.
In 2006, Simon returned to Perth, where he pursued a Master's degree in Film and Television at Curtin University, graduating with distinction in 2009. Since his return to Perth, Simon has appeared in several film productions, including the DigiSPAA award-winning film "Little Sparrows," directed by Yu-Hsiu Camille Chen, and more recently, "Son of a Gun," starring Ewan McGregor, as well as the mini-drama "The War That Changed Us."
