Síle Bermingham, born on the 7th of 10 children, grew up in Dublin, Ireland, with a household filled with music, storytelling, and a love of literature and poetry, courtesy of her parents, Eileen, an All Ireland Champion Camogie player, and Sean, a west of Ireland man who passed on his passion for literature to Síle. As a child, Síle was exposed to a wide range of artists, musicians, poets, and writers, who would often visit her family's home, filling the air with creative energy.
It was only natural that Síle would develop a passion for the performing arts, and she began her stage career in Dublin, performing in fringe theatre and performance art. After a brief stint in London, where she studied with the legendary acting coach Jack Walzter, Síle moved to New York, where she continued to hone her craft, taking on numerous stage productions, including Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Loot, The Trial, The Hostage, Dracula, A Touch of the Poet, A Woman of No Importance, Crimes & Crimes, Remembrance, Hitler's Head, Good Bobby, and L.A.
Síle's film career has been just as impressive, with standout roles in the Lionsgate award-winning hit Played, alongside a star-studded cast including Val Kilmer, Gabriel Byrne, Vinnie Jones, Anthony LaPaglia, the late great Bruno Kirby, Joanne Whalley, and Patsy Kensit. She followed this up with the dramatic heist thriller 2:22, where she played the role of Jody, and the film received five nominations at the Milan International Film Festival and won best film at the Malibu Film Festival.
In A Kiss And A Promise, directed by Phillip Guzman, Síle played a grieving mother whose daughter falls victim to a serial killer. Her most recent project, Waiting For The Miracle To Come, stars her opposite legendary actress Charlotte Rampling and American icon Willie Nelson.
A lover of stories and the spoken word, Síle also narrates audiobooks for authors such as Maeve Binchy, Mark Tomkins, Siobhan Dowd, Andrea Cremer, Joanne Harris, Marian Keyes, Cecelia Ahern, and many others. Síle is a lifetime member of The Actors Studio in NY & LA and resides in Los Angeles.
