Biography

Sif Ruud's life began in a family of considerable means, but her stepfather's profligate spending of her mother's resources soon led to a more humble existence. Amidst these changing circumstances, a friend of her mother's took notice of Sif's burgeoning passion for acting and kindly provided her with private lessons. In 1934, she enrolled at the renowned Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school in Stockholm, where she had the privilege of studying alongside fellow aspiring thespian Gunn Wållgren and learning from esteemed instructor Hilda Borgström. Upon graduating, Sif went on to hone her craft in various Swedish theatres, ultimately forging a career in film characterized by a series of smaller yet significant roles.
