Siddharth, a multifaceted individual with a passion for the performing arts, was born in the vibrant city of New Delhi, India. From a tender age, he was actively involved in the amateur theatrical group TAG in Delhi, where he honed his acting skills by playing various roles in English plays. As his creative pursuits evolved, Siddharth turned his attention to filmmaking, driven by a desire to delve deeper into the art of storytelling.
To further his education and skills, Siddharth pursued a degree in filmmaking at Hampshire College in Massachusetts, USA. Upon completing his studies, he landed his first job as an assistant director (AD) on the set of Mira Nair's critically acclaimed film, Kamasutra (1995). When a previously cast actor's scheduling conflict arose, Siddharth was recruited to play a small but significant role in the movie, marking his debut in the Indian film industry.
Siddharth's stint in Kamasutra led to him being cast in the lead role of Prem, a character that would become an integral part of his early career. Following his return to India, he transitioned into the role of a cinematographer, working on a variety of projects, including documentaries and TV serials, such as the popular Star TV series, Rajdhani (2000).
In addition to his work behind the camera, Siddharth also demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by curating India's first-ever digital film festival, the Digital Talkies Festival, in 2001. He then went on to write and direct his own film, Let's Enjoy (2004),a testament to his versatility and creative range.
Today, Siddharth resides in Mumbai, the hub of the Indian film industry, where he continues to make significant contributions to the world of cinema.
