Shyam Benegal, a renowned director and producer, entered this world on December 14, 1934, in the quaint town of Trimulgherry, which is now known as Tirumalagiri, located in the vibrant city of Hyderabad, within the Indian state of Telangana.

Throughout his illustrious career, Benegal gained recognition for his outstanding work on several notable films, including the critically acclaimed Ankur, released in 1974, the thought-provoking Trikal (Past, Present, Future) in 1985, and the highly acclaimed Bhumika in 1977.

Benegal's personal life was marked by a loving marriage to his partner, Nira Benegal.
