Biography

Shira-Lee Shalit is a multifaceted artist, boasting a remarkable career as an award-winning director, writer, and filmmaker. Her latest writing and directing endeavor, "The Oh Gees", garnered significant recognition, including a nomination for Best Comedy at the prestigious Cannes Short Film Festival, as well as wins for Best Comedy at the Paris Short Film Festival, Best Comedy and Direction at the Piermont Film Festival, and an official selection at the LA Comedy Film Festival.

Shira-Lee's feature film, A-List, took home the Audience Award at the Milan International Film Fest and the coveted Gold Remy for Best Comedy at Worldfest. Additionally, her film Open Air won Best Short at the NJ International Film Festival and the Mexico International Film Festival. Notably, her debut short film, Full Cycle, was named a Regional Finalist in the Student Academy Awards.

Theatrically, Shira-Lee has directed numerous productions, including the World Premiere of LAByrinth Theatre Company's Devil of Choice at Cherry Lane, What's Wrong With You at the Harold Clurman Lab, Nick and Zoe at IRT, Girls Will Be Girls at the NY Fringe Festival, and Fault Lines at TBG Theatre.

As a prominent figure in the industry, Shira-Lee is a member of The Actors Studio Director Unit and NY Women in Film & TV. She also serves as a faculty member at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is the Head of Directing Actors at Columbia University Graduate Film Division.
