Shawn Hoffman, author of the acclaimed book SAMSON: A Savior Will Rise, has achieved unparalleled success in the literary world, garnering top awards at eight prestigious national and international book festivals, including the New York Book Festival, the Los Angeles Book Festival, the Great Northwest Book Festival, the Hollywood Book Festival, the Beverly Hills Book Award, the Paris Book Festival, and the San Francisco Book Festival, as well as the London Book Festival.
Following his academic scholarship to Stanford University, Shawn returned to New York, where he honed his acting skills under the tutelage of Harvey Keitel and Al Pacino's coach, Penny Allen, at the Charles Laughton/Penny Allen Studios. He landed a lead role in the Broadway production of "The Survivor," a poignant drama based on Jack Eisner's book about his experiences during the Holocaust.
When "The Survivor" was brought to Los Angeles, Shawn relocated to the City of Angels, where he became a member of Ed Harris and Holly Hunter's Theater Group, the L.A. Met, alongside Angelina Jolie.
As a writer, Shawn has secured several deals and films in development, including collaborations with Tom Cruise's C/W Productions, John Woo and Terence Chang's Lion Rock Productions, 50 Cannon Productions, and producer Gerry Molen.
Shawn's impressive career has also seen him produce Mark Burnett and Donald Trump's hit NBC television show "The Apprentice," which garnered over 40 million viewers in the United States alone, as well as his film "Hometown Legend" (Warner Bros.),which won several film festivals, including the Vision Film Festival.
As an actor, Shawn has appeared in over 20 films and television shows, including starring roles in movies for Lion's Gate Studios, Disney, Warner Bros., Sundance Film Channel, F/X channel, and TV shows on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, and MTV.
In addition to his acting credits, Shawn has written 10 screenplays that have sold in the last decade, and his debut novel, Samson: a Savior Will Rise, from Harper-Collins/Thomas-Nelson, is a World War 2 Holocaust story that has received widespread critical acclaim and won numerous national and international awards for Best Novel.
