Shanra Kehl embarked on an academic journey at Montana State University, where she initially pursued a degree in photography, only to soon discover that stills were not enough to satiate her creative ambitions. Consequently, she made the decision to also delve into the realm of cinematography, opting to study both disciplines concurrently. After a couple of years of immersion in both photography and cinematography, she transferred to Columbia College Chicago, where she was able to hone her skills and concentrate on cinematography specifically.
