Shannon Mary Dixon is a multifaceted individual, boasting a successful career as both an award-winning actor and decorated athlete. Her journey in the entertainment industry began while competing as an elite figure skater, with Olympic aspirations, where she discovered her passion for performing.
As she transitioned from the ice to the stage, Shannon landed lead and supporting roles with prominent networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, Lifetime, Blackbox TV, and numerous independent films. Her films have been showcased at prestigious festivals worldwide, such as the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, London Fashion Film Festival, and Milano International Film Festival.
Throughout her career, Shannon's projects have received numerous accolades, including 'Best Picture,' 'Best Acting,' and 'Best in Show.' Her extensive stage experience has led her to embody the lead role in Edward Albee's classic, The Death of Bessie Smith, and play 11 characters to critical acclaim in a sold-out run of the Spoon River Anthology.
Shannon's upcoming projects include the dramatic motorcycle action film, Through the Corners, and the historical western feature, The Outlaws of Mendicino County. Her unique ability to combine physicality with storytelling has allowed her to take on a range of roles, utilizing her skills in motorcycle riding, precision driving, stunt fighting, and horseback riding.
She has also skated in various productions, including NBC's The Office, and has utilized her competitive athlete background to bring a high level of physicality to her characters. As an RYT Certified Yoga Instructor and martial arts trainee, Shannon continues to hone her physical skills.
Shannon's educational background includes graduating Magna Cum Laude with degrees in Film, Theatre, and Design from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, joining notable alumni such as Olivia Wilde and Colin Farrell. Additionally, she has completed the advanced improv program at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) and has performed extensively on indie improv teams.
Beyond her acting career, Shannon was accepted into the Production Design Masters Degree program at the American Film Institute Conservatory (AFI) and has experience in art departments and as a production designer. In 2018, she directed and produced her first film, Down the Road, a short period piece set in 1944 Paris, and is currently writing a feature-length post-apocalyptic western.
In her free time, Shannon enjoys exploring new places with her family, traveling to over 25 countries, learning languages, appreciating the arts, cooking, and watching films and series.
