Shannon is a renowned and accomplished actor and writer, celebrated for her exceptional comedic talents and versatility in portraying a wide range of characters.
During her early career, Shannon's stand-up performances at the prestigious Comedy Store caught the attention of an all-male improv group, who recruited her to be the sole female member. Over the course of several years, the group entertained audiences at various LA-area venues before disbanding when Shannon was offered a series regular role on a comedy pilot, unfortunately, the project was not picked up.
One of Shannon's most notable roles was her portrayal of a rebellious, chain-smoking, and profanity-spewing white trash character in the short film "The Unmentionables," which was shot in black and white on actual 16MM film.
After a decade-long hiatus from acting to focus on writing, Shannon has optioned and sold several feature film scripts, co-written with Tony Jerris, spanning genres from Christmas-themed to thrillers. Many of her scripts are designed to showcase supporting character roles that she hopes will be played by her idol, Tina Fey, often in non-lead capacities.
While comedy remains her first love, Shannon has also successfully ventured into the realm of drama, having sold two dramatic scripts. As a writer, Shannon is meticulous about her work, constantly editing and revising, but she also believes in giving actors the freedom to improvise with her dialogue, as long as they respect the comedic beats and allow the words to flow naturally.
Today, Shannon divides her time between her homes in California and Colorado, continuing to pursue her passion for acting and writing.
