Shane Wood, also known as Shane Daniel Wood, was born in Logan, Utah, and would go on to have a multifaceted career in the entertainment industry. His journey began at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah, where he made his first stage performance.
Following his early start in acting, Shane relocated to Las Vegas, where he worked as a bodyguard for various celebrities, including Clint Eastwood, Sylvester Stallone, Evander Holyfield, Nicolas Cage, and many others. During this time, he also modeled for companies such as Bugle Boy and Levi.
Shane's big break came when he landed a role as a cop in the Patrick Swayze film "Fatherhood," and he was later called upon to double Mr. Swayze during filming. He then spent two years at the American Film Institute (AFI),where he starred in seven films within a single year.
After his time at AFI, Shane met Matt Sigloch, a U.S. Marine and Military Advisor in Hollywood, and spent the next two years working with the Gun Metal Group, a band of U.S. Marine Live Fire Stuntmen. During this period, he worked on numerous films and television series, including NCIS, ER, The Unit, Deja Vu, and Spider-Man 3.
Shane's role in Spider-Man 3 led to an unexpected opportunity when he was offered a one-line role in the film "The Bank Job," which was later bumped up to three pages of dialogue. The director was so impressed with his performance that he went on to write a feature film for Shane, originally titled "The Shooter."
Despite breaking his ankle during filming, Shane continued to work for two weeks before seeking medical attention. He eventually co-starred with Michael Madsen in "Hired Gun," which became the #1 action film in Japan in 2010.
However, Shane's priorities shifted after the birth of his two daughters, and he chose to leave Hollywood to focus on raising his family. He returned to St. George, Utah, and was later asked to help boost the local economy by starring in a series of tourism commercials. The first commercial doubled tourism in just six months, while the other four commercials had a significant impact on the tourism industry of Zion National Park.
Today, Shane works as a Top Rated Realtor in the Greater Zion Area, according to Zillow. He is also set to lend his voice to the epic sci-fi saga "The Magnificent Raiders" in 2025.
