Her impressive portfolio boasts a wide range of accomplishments, including her captivating portrayal of Lola in the Hulu comedy series Difficult People, where she stole the spotlight in seasons 2 and 3.
As the Founding Artistic Director of Musical Theatre Factory, Shakina has been instrumental in nurturing the growth of over 100 new musicals, including her own autobiographical rock musical, Manifest Pussy, a deeply personal and poignant work that showcases her remarkable talent.
Throughout her illustrious career, Shakina has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Lilly Award, the TRU Humanitarian Award, and two Drama League Fellowships.
Shakina's academic background is equally impressive, boasting a Bachelor's degree in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well as MFA and PhD degrees from the University of California, Riverside.
