Serhat Kiliç's journey in the world of theatre and performance began when he won a scholarship to the Theatre department of Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts in 1994. He graduated from this esteemed institution in 1998, earning a high honor degree. His first professional acting experience was in 1998, when he appeared in Ariel Doffman's play "Widows" directed by Rutkay Aziz at the Ankara Art Theater.
In the following years, Kiliç continued to hone his craft, working with various theatre companies, including the Diyarbakir State Theater from 1999 to 2000. During this time, he also taught stage and acting classes at the Diyarbakir City Theatre and directed the play "Peace Island" at the same institution.
In 2002, Kiliç was appointed to the Erzurum State Theatre, where he completed his compulsory service. After receiving his Master's Degree in Theatre Directing from Hacettepe University State Conservatory, he began teaching as a lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Arts Theatre Department at Erzurum Ataturk University in 2005.
In 2008, Kiliç resigned from his position at the State Theatre and moved to Istanbul, where he began working with various theatre companies, including Dot and BKM. In the 2009-2010 season, he joined the Istanbul City Theaters, starring in the play "Dress Rehearsal for a Suicide", which became a sellout for three seasons and earned him a nomination for Year's Most Successful Musical/Comedy Actor in the 14th Afife Theater Awards.
In 2012, Kiliç founded his own production company, Cats & Dogs (Soho Istanbul),and in 2014, he portrayed the role of Imam Hamdi in the Palme d'Or-winning film "Winter Sleep" directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan. He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the 47th SIYAD Turkish Film Critics Association Awards for his performance.
Throughout his career, Kiliç has remained committed to his passion for the arts, and in 2014, he realized his dream of founding an art school, SCHOOL Serhat Kiliç, which offers training programs in acting, writing, dancing, and singing.
