Sergei Bodrov Jr., a talented individual, was born on December 27th, 1971, to a prominent figure in the film industry, producer and director Sergei Bodrov. His entry into the world of cinema occurred in 1996, when he made his film debut in his father's production, "Prisoner of the Mountains", for which he received a Nika award. This initial foray into acting marked the beginning of his illustrious career.
In 1997, Sergei's breakthrough role in "Brother" catapulted him to stardom, making him one of the most recognized and beloved Russian actors. He further solidified his position in the industry with his lead role in "Brat 2" in 2000.
Sergei also ventured into directing, making his debut in 2001 with the highly acclaimed film "Sisters". The movie resonated with audiences and critics alike, cementing his status as a versatile and talented filmmaker.
Tragedy struck in 2002, when Sergei was set to direct "Messenger", a project that took him to the Caucasus mountains. On September 20th, 2002, an avalanche caused by a glacier slide swept through the mountains, leaving Sergei and his production team reported missing and believed killed. He is survived by his loving wife and two young children, a four-year-old daughter and a two-month-old son.
