Sean Cory Cooper was born in Hartford, Connecticut, as the result of an affair between his mother and a married jazz pianist. This marked the beginning of his journey, which would eventually lead him to pursue a career in acting.
At the tender age of 12, Sean, his mother, and stepfather relocated to South Ozone Park, Queens, New York, where he attended John Adams High School. After graduating, Sean briefly attended Kingsborough Community College before deciding to drop out and focus on acting full-time.
Sean's passion for acting was ignited early, and he began studying the craft at several schools, including HB Studios, Weist Barron-Hill, and with private teachers who specialized in the Meisner technique. However, Sean believes that the best way to learn is by doing, so he started working in New York theatre, appearing in numerous Off-Broadway productions.
Sean earned his Equity card while working for "The Floating Hospital" under the TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) contract and joined Actor's Equity in 1993. He also joined AFTRA soon after. As much as Sean loved New York, the allure of Hollywood beckoned, and in 1994, he made the move to Los Angeles.
Since then, Sean has been fortunate enough to appear in many independent films, including the Academy Award-winning film "Crash" and the action-packed "Cradle 2 The Grave" alongside Jet Li and DMX. He has also ventured into voice-over work, lending his voice to Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep commercials for years and many other commercials, both on-camera and voice-over. Additionally, Sean voiced the role of "David Weston" in the "Terminator: Salvation" video game.
On television, Sean has appeared on "The Practice", "7 Days", and worked on the pilot episode of "The Black Donnellys". Although he was booked and on-set for the pilot, his scene was ultimately not shot due to time constraints with child actors. Sean was still paid and received residuals for his work. Despite this, he remains incredibly grateful for the opportunities he has received and is confident that he will continue to receive more in the future.
