Sean Weske, a renowned actor, photographer, and entrepreneur, was born in 1940 into a theatrical family with a rich history in the entertainment industry. His father, H. Victor Weske, started his career on London's West End stage in 1917 and continued to appear in silent films and British productions until 1948, often playing the villain. Sean's mother, Rita Tobin-Weske, was part of the Ricardo Sisters, a cabaret group that performed in the 1920s, and later transitioned to films and television, working until the late 1980s.
Sean's brother, Brian Weske, was a child actor who became a star on the West End before the age of fourteen and went on to appear in over 80 films. He also wrote and recorded numerous songs, including compositions for notable artists such as Jess Conrad, Johnny Kidd, and the Pirates. In later life, Brian served as the personal assistant to his friend, Sir Michael Caine.
Sean's early career began in the 1960s, when he formed a theatrical agency called Co-opted Arts with John Kavan in London. He later opened his own agency, Top Girls, which handled many prominent women in the industry. In 1967, Sean moved to Italy, where he produced and directed three films: The Ugly Battle, The Forgotten War, and The Dolphin's Quest.
Upon his return to London in 1973, Sean co-founded the British Motion Picture Company with George McIndoe and actor Jack Wild, based at Shepperton Studios. They produced two films, The Studio Kids and Lazy Days, with George as co-director. In the late 1980s, Sean expanded his business by launching multiple theatrical agencies as part of the Sean Barry Group of Companies, including Coppers, Experts, and Robert Foster Management.
As a student of German Military History, Sean was often called upon to provide technical advice on war movies and TV dramas. He has played numerous uniformed characters throughout his acting career, from British police officers to German officers. Currently, Sean resides and works in Hollywood, where he continues to act, create uniforms and insignias for production companies, and offer technical advice on war movies.
Sean is also known for being the last photographer to capture the late Sharon Tate, whose photos are now the basis for all Sharon Tate memorabilia sold worldwide.
