Born on August 21st, 1990, in Lagos, Nigeria, Baoku's early life was shaped by his family's relocation to the United Kingdom when he was just three months old. Growing up in Brixton, South London, he developed a strong connection to his British roots, while also maintaining a strong sense of his Nigerian heritage.
Baoku's early introduction to the performing arts came at the tender age of three, when he began attending Stockwell Primary School. It was during his time at this school that he discovered his passion for music, learning to play the drums and later becoming involved in various school productions. This early exposure to the stage would lay the foundation for his future career in the performing arts.
As he entered his teenage years, Baoku's thirst for creative expression only intensified. At the age of 12, he attended a Summer School at the BFI Southbank, where he took part in a film project called 'The International Face of the Moon'. This experience not only honed his acting skills but also provided him with valuable insight into the world of filmmaking.
Baoku's formal education in the performing arts began when he enrolled in a two-year HND Performing Arts course at West Thames College. Following this, he went on to complete a one-year course in Performance and Events Productions at Teesside University, graduating with an overall grade of 2.1.
Before pursuing a full-time career in the arts, Baoku worked as a merchandiser, where he was discovered by a talent manager who recognized his potential and helped him to launch his acting career.
