Biography

Sara's impressive screen credits include a wide range of notable roles in various television series and films. Her early work includes appearances in the multi-award winning mini-series My Brother Jack, as well as roles in AACTA winning The Tailings, Five Bedrooms, Deadloch, Harrow, Rosehaven, The Gloaming, My Place Series 2, The Kettering Incident, and the Canadian/Australian feature film Arctic Blast. Her extensive filmography also includes over 40 short films and TV commercials.

In addition to her screen work, Sara has also voiced multiple characters for several international animation series, including Dumbotz, Megabites, Pixel Pinkie, Buzz Bumble, and Fanshaw and Crudnut. Her extensive experience in animation has allowed her to develop a unique range of voices and characters.

Sara's stage credits are equally impressive, with over 50 professional performances to her name. Her stage work includes the 2019 international premiere of The Mares by Kate Mulvany, as well as touring productions of Terrapin's Explosion Therapy and Beyond the Neck. Her most recent stage credit includes a role in A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by the multi-award winning Roger Hodgman.

Before pursuing a career in the arts, Sara worked as a Clown Doctor for The Humour Foundation, performing in hospitals around Australia for six years. This experience has given her a unique perspective on the importance of arts in healing and has allowed her to develop her skills as a performer.

Throughout her career, Sara has received numerous awards and nominations for her work. Her awards include Best Supporting Actress and Best Dramedy Supporting Actress at the Rome WebAwards for Noirhouse, as well as a nomination for Best Actress at The inaugural 2015 Errols for her performance in The Berry Man. She was also awarded Most Outstanding Ensemble Performance for Kate Mulvany's The Mares in the Tasmanian Theatre Awards in 2020. In 2023, she was nominated for Best Performance Professional Theatre for her portrayal of Livia in Mudlark Theatre's premiere season of Stephanie Briarwood's Garden on the Moon.

Sara has received training in various disciplines, including improvisation, clowning, screen acting, and more, under the guidance of renowned instructors such as Ivana Chubbuck, Aleksi Vellis, Di Drew, Improbable Theatre, Phillipe Gaulier, Justus Neumann, Tom Greder, Clare Bartholomew, Laura Sheedy, and Rowena Balos.

In addition to her work as an actress, Sara has also run the award-winning Cooper Screen Academy from 2010 to 2021. Her students have gone on to appear in lead and support roles in streaming platforms including STAN, BINGE, Amazon Prime, ABC, and SBS. Sara has also worked as an onset coach for Amazon Prime's Deadloch and for the latest Blundstone global "Find you Fit" campaign.
