Sandra Equihua, a talented and versatile artist, designer, and voice actress, hails from Tijuana, Mexico, but currently resides in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Ibero University in Tijuana, Mexico, Sandra's creative journey began to unfold.
Following her academic pursuits, she transitioned into character design for animated series and films, subsequently landing projects at esteemed studios such as Sony, Warner Bros., Disney, and Nick Jr. Her professional experiences have been marked by numerous collaborations with prominent animation studios.
In 2007, Sandra, along with her husband Jorge Gutierrez, co-created and designed the multiple Emmy award-winning animated series, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, at Nickelodeon. This groundbreaking achievement solidified her reputation as a skilled and innovative artist.
More recently, Sandra and her husband collaborated once again to produce the animated feature film, The Book of Life, produced by the acclaimed Guillermo del Toro for 20th Century Fox, in 2014. Her most recent endeavors include designing and voicing characters for the Netflix limited series, Maya and the Three.
