Sandra Andreis is a multifaceted Swedish-Italian actress and singer, with a career spanning across various countries including Sweden, the Dominican Republic, Denmark, France, Austria, and the United States. She has been a long-term resident of both New York and Los Angeles for over thirteen years, dividing her time between the US, UK, and Sweden.
Prior to embarking on a full-time acting and performing career, Sandra Andreis began her journey as a journalist in Sweden. She has studied at the European Film College in Denmark and graduated from The Neighbourhood Playhouse - School of the Theatre in New York. Following her graduation, Sandra Andreis appeared in numerous plays and musicals in New York, including A Midsummer Night's Dream and Rent.
Between 2012 and 2018, Sandra starred as Detective Mia Holmgren in the Swedish TV-series The Sandhamn Murders, based on the bestselling novels by crime writer Viveca Sten. The series has gained immense popularity in Europe, with the last episode in 2018 being watched by a staggering five million people in Germany alone.
Sandra Andreis has also appeared in the award-winning film Reunion, which won the Fipresci Prize at the Venice Film Festival and several Guldbagge Awards in Sweden. In 2018, she joined the international ensemble cast of the limited thriller series The Head, directed by Jorge Dorado and airing globally in 2020 on HBO Max in the US, Starz UK, HBO Asia, Hulu Japan, Canal+ in France, Viaplay in Scandinavia, and several other countries.
During 2020, Andreis was part of the main cast of the award-winning comedy TV-series We Got This, created by Schiaffino Musarra and directed by Oscar-winner Patrik Eklund. We Got This made Variety Magazine's list as one of the Best International TV-series of 2020 and aired on Sundance Now in the UK, US, and Canada.
Beyond her acting career, Sandra Andreis has a background as a jazz singer and performer. In 2018, she released her debut EP "Raising my Standards", featuring groundbreaking interpretations of her favourite jazz standards. Not only did Sandra give the classics a new and modern soundscape, but she acquired the rare permission to rewrite and update the lyrics to reflect the gender norms of our time.
Sandra Andreis has stated that her greatest achievement thus far is making music history with the classic hit song "The Lady is a Tramp". She recorded her version with the title "The Lady is a Champ" and it was approved as the first official alternative title of the song. Since 2018, anyone may record the classic song with the alternative title for the first time in history.
