Samuel Itzhak Finzi, a renowned Bulgarian-German actor, was born on January 20, 1966, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the class of Professor Dimitrina Gyurova in 1992. Finzi then specialized in the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York in 1994.
Finzi began his acting career in 1989, debuting in the role of Leopold in the Theatre "Bulgarian Army". He has since lived and worked in Germany, performing in various theaters, including the Hebbel Theater in Berlin, Schauspielhaus in Dusseldorf, Schauspielhaus in Cologne, and Thalia Theater in Hamburg.
Throughout his career, Finzi has played a wide range of roles, including Cosimo and others in "Hermafroditus", a collage of images in "Performance and Punishment", Author and Kalfa in "Leons and Lena" and "Woyzeck", Treplyov and several characters in "Seagull", "Swan songs", and "The Big Time", and many more.
Finzi has also appeared in various films, including "The Camp" and "Pieces of Love", as well as the Oscar-nominated Austrian film "Testament". He has received numerous awards and recognition, including being named best actor in Germany by 42 critics and journalists.
In his personal life, Finzi is married to Sorrel Athina Jardine and they have one child together.
