Sammy Jackson's remarkable journey began when he was "discovered" by Bob Mizer, the editor of Physique Pictorial magazine, while attending a theatrical production of Tobacco Road at the Moroccan Theatre in Hollywood in the fall of 1958. Mizer was immediately struck by Jackson's captivating charm and vivacity, which left a lasting impression on him.
Prior to his modeling career, Jackson had developed a passion for dramatics about a year earlier and had even landed a small role in the film "No Time for Sergeants". As a member of the American Health Club, Jackson didn't have much time to dedicate to working out at the gym, but he hoped to change that once he settled into his career.
