Samantha Win Tjhia, previously known as Samantha Jo, was born in the charming city of Barrie, Ontario, Canada, to a loving father of Chinese descent and a mother of Caucasian and Canadian heritage, Charles and Leslie. She is blessed with two older brothers, who currently reside in Toronto alongside the rest of her family.
Samantha's journey in the world of acting began at the tender age of 10, when she started appearing in various toy commercials and print advertisements, following her impressive win at Talent Search Canada 2001. Her passion for the performing arts was further nurtured through her early introduction to martial arts at the age of 4, where she began training in Jiu Jitsu. However, by the time she reached the age of 17, she had evolved into a competitive Wushu athlete, garnering multiple medals at the national, pan-American, and international levels.
This remarkable achievement afforded Samantha the opportunity to represent Canada in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Wushu tournament. Her impressive skills in Wushu also paved the way for her to relocate to Los Angeles, where she began working as a stunt double and eventually transitioned into a lead actress.
Samantha has earned a reputation for her exceptional proficiency in the action genre, which she attributes to her extensive background in stunt work. Her unwavering dedication to her craft, coupled with her unrelenting passion for the arts, has enabled her to steadily build momentum and excel in her career.
