Sam Corlett's journey to becoming an actor was an unexpected one, despite growing up on the Central Coast of Australia with a mother who was a counselor and a father who was a builder. His early years were filled with pursuits on the rugby field and basketball court, but it was his deep love for art, psychology, and poetry that ultimately led him to discover his passion for the art of storytelling.
Sam has honed his craft under the guidance of esteemed coaches, including Elizabeth Kemp, Les Chantery, and Gerry Grennell, and graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting from the prestigious Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts in 2018.
Throughout his career, Sam has been a part of several productions, with notable stage highlights including his portrayal of Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, Thomas Putnam in Arthur Miller's The Crucible, and Demetrius in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Sam's first foray into screen acting saw him cast alongside Eric Bana in the Australian classic, 'The Dry', followed by his role as Caliban in the popular series, 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina', where he starred alongside Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, and Richard Coyle. He then landed the lead role of Leif Erikson in Netflix's historical saga, 'Vikings: Valhalla', which topped the Netflix Global charts for both Season 1 and Season 2.
In 2024, Sam will appear in the third and final season of 'Vikings: Valhalla', as well as the highly anticipated feature film 'He Ain't Heavy', alongside Liela George and Greta Scacchi.
As a writer/director, Sam's short film for Sony Ciné, 'At The Motel', received critical acclaim, and he is currently producing two feature films.
