Vandana, also known as Saloni, was born in 1987 to a Sindhi-speaking family in Ulhasnagar. Her father, a Customs Officer, relocated the family to Central Government Quarters near Wadala, Bombay, where they settled.
After completing her schooling, Saloni enrolled in Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University (S.N.D.T.) University near New Marine Lines/Churchgate, Bombay, and graduated with a degree in Psychology. She then took acting lessons at Ashok Kumar's Acting Academy, run by his daughter, Preeti Ganguly.
Throughout her academic career, Saloni was actively involved in dramas and plays. She was a huge fan of Sridevi, often mimicking her lines and rehearsing with friends and family. She also participated with a theater group called 'Kala Sansad'.
Before making her Bollywood debut, Saloni appeared in TV and print commercials for various brands, including Vaseline, Lifebuoy, Parachute Oil, Moove, Chic shampoo, Three roses tea, and Meera soaps.
Saloni's initial appearances on the big screen were in regional language movies, particularly in Tamil and Telugu. Although her voice was initially dubbed, she is now working to master both languages.
Her Bollywood debut was in the movie 'Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya', followed by 'Rehguzar' and 'Saawan'. Saloni has since become one of the most popular and sought-after actresses in Bollywood, known for her charming screen presence and captivating performances. Her breakout role in 'Rehguzar' cemented her position as a rising star in the industry.
