Saara Lamberg's educational background is equally impressive, having studied at the critically acclaimed Dartington College of Arts in England, where they earned a BA (HONS) degree in Theatre and Choreographic Practices in 2007.
After relocating to Melbourne in January 2010, Lamberg received a Distinguished Talent Permanent Residency in 2012 and Australian citizenship in 2014. Their second feature film, Westermarck Effect, was completed and released at the Cannes Cinephiles selection in 2022, while their third feature, The Lies We Tell Ourselves, was shot in various film festivals around the world and was fully improvised.
Saara Lamberg is currently working on two other feature films, Conversations with Spithead and COMA. In their personal life, Lamberg has faced significant challenges, including the loss of their mother to early onset dementia and a breast cancer diagnosis in their thirties.
