Chkonia's journey in the world of film began in 2001, when she graduated with a degree in film studies. It was during this period that she directed two documentaries, Bediani – Lucky Village and Children Without a Name, showcasing her skill and dedication to her craft.

Years later, in 2012, Chkonia took on a new challenge, writing, producing, and directing the feature film Keep Smiling. This impressive feat demonstrates her versatility and ability to excel in various roles within the film industry.
