Ruben Santiago-Hudson is a multi-talented individual who has made a significant impact in the world of theater and film. As a director, he has had the privilege of working on numerous productions, including the world premieres of his own play "Your Blues Ain't Sweet Like Mine" at The Two River Theater and Dominique Morriseau's "Paradise Blue" at the Williamstown Theater Festival.
Throughout his career, Ruben has been recognized for his exceptional work, earning numerous awards and nominations. His screenplay "Lackawanna Blues" won several prestigious awards, including the Humanitas Prize, the National Board of Reviews, the NAACP Image Award, and the Christopher Award, and received nominations for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a WGA.
As an actor, Ruben has received a Tony Award, two OBIE Awards, and a Helen Hayes Award. He has performed in numerous productions, including August Wilson's solo show "How I Learned What I Learned".
Ruben has also been involved in various projects, including serving as co-artistic director alongside Stephen McKinley Henderson to record August Wilson's American Century Cycle, which consists of the entire canon of his plays.
