Roy, a multi-talented individual, was born and raised in the northeast, where he was the youngest of three siblings, with two older sisters. Growing up, sports played a significant role in his life, and he trained competitively in tennis, soccer, ice hockey, and lacrosse, earning All-American honors in high school. After playing lacrosse at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania during his freshman year, Roy relocated to Florida to focus full-time on becoming a professional tennis player.
However, his passion for sports soon gave way to his interest in the performing arts. Roy returned to college, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University. He then attended the Palm Beach Film School in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he honed his skills in writing, directing, editing, and acting. During this time, he wrote, directed, edited, and starred in the award-winning short film "Dotted Lines," which marked the beginning of his journey in the entertainment industry.
Roy's breakthrough role as a lead in a feature film came when he played Evan Bennett in the award-winning film "Seven Deadly Words," earning him the Best Actor award at the Coal River Film Festival. He has since appeared in numerous television shows, full-length and short Indie movies, including a supporting role in a short film directed by James Brolin and starring Brolin and Dean Cain.
In addition to his work in film and television, Roy has performed extensively in local and national television commercials, including campaigns for Burger King, USGA, and IBM. He has also showcased his talents in live theatre, taking on memorable roles such as Mr. Halliday in "Dial M for Murder" and Chris Kringle in the family comedy "Beau Jest," which he describes as the role of a lifetime.
Currently, Roy is involved in the production of a short film adapted from a feature screenplay, "Fighting Johhny O'Brian," written by his father. He will star in the film and is excited to collaborate with his father on this project. Shooting is scheduled to take place in February 2018, with the film set to hit festivals later that year.
