Ross Fleming Butler's life journey began in Singapore, where he was born, before he relocated to the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area to spend his formative years. His academic path initially led him to Ohio State University, where he pursued a dual degree in biomolecular and chemical engineering. However, after just one year, he made the pivotal decision to drop out, realizing that his passion and interest in this field of study were lacking. This turning point in his life ultimately led him to make a significant change, as he relocated to Los Angeles in 2010. It was during this time that he discovered his true calling in acting, courtesy of a birthday gift from his friend – an acting class – which he took on his 21st birthday. As he delved deeper into the world of acting, he became increasingly aware of the stark underrepresentation of Asian-American talent in the film and television industry, as well as the misrepresentation of Asian-American males throughout his life. This realization sparked a burning desire within him to challenge these stereotypes and fight for greater inclusion in Hollywood, a mission that has driven him to this day.
