Biography

Rosanna Arquette has enjoyed a long and illustrious career in the entertainment industry, solidifying her reputation as a talented and versatile actress. Born in New York City, New York, she comes from a family of actors, with her parents, Lewis Arquette and Brenda Denaut (née Nowak),being an actor and an acting teacher and therapist, respectively.

Rosanna's family is quite extensive, with her having four siblings, including Richmond Arquette, Patricia Arquette, Alexis Arquette, and David Arquette, all of whom are also actors. Her paternal grandfather, Cliff Arquette, was also an entertainer, and her mother was of Ashkenazi Jewish descent from Poland and Russia, while her father had French-Canadian, Swiss-German, and English ancestry.

Growing up in a family of actors, Rosanna began her acting career at a young age, with her first major break coming as a teenager in the Movie of the Week "The Dark Secret of Harvest Home" (1978),which starred the legendary Bette Davis. This led to a string of television roles, including appearances in "ABC Afterschool Specials" (1972) and the series "James at 16" (1977).

Rosanna's film debut came in 1980 with the movie "Gorp", and since then, she has appeared in a wide range of films, including "Baby It's You" (1983),"Fathers & Sons" (1992) with Jeff Goldblum, "Silverado" (1985) (also featuring Goldblum),"The Linguini Incident" (1991),and Martin Scorsese's segment of "New York Stories" (1989) with Nick Nolte, among many others.

Rosanna has been particularly proud of her offbeat roles in independent films such as "After Hours" (1985),"Nobody's Fool" (1986),and "Desperately Seeking Susan" (1985),for which she won the British Academy Award. She has also been nominated for an Emmy for her work in the controversial "The Executioner's Song" (1982).

Throughout her career, Rosanna has continued to work on both television and the big screen, solidifying her status as a talented and dedicated actress.
