Artist Roger Minami has led a multifaceted life, transitioning from a successful dancer/entertainer to a producer/director, and finally, to a painter. His impressive background includes being featured in the film "Annie" as The Asp, starring on Broadway with Liza Minnelli in "The Act", and producing/directing 14 award-winning productions for Merv Griffin at Resorts International Casino in Atlantic City.
Minami's achievements are numerous, having won the Best Male Performer in Las Vegas for three consecutive years and the Atlantic City Entertainment Awards on seven different occasions for his productions at Resorts. He was also a featured performer on Dick Clark's daily television show "Where The Action Is" for two years before becoming the star of "Bare Touch Of Vegas", which ran for a record eight years.
Minami toured the world with Liza Minnelli for two years, performing in all the capitals of Europe and South America. He has also produced three production shows for Sun City in South Africa and three production shows for various venues in Japan. Additionally, his show for Paradise Island Casino in the Bahamas ran for four years.
In 1996, Minami decided to step away from the fast-paced world of show business and relocate to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he began his third career as a painter. With homes in Santa Monica, California, Vancouver, and Puerto Vallarta, Minami draws inspiration from his varied surroundings. His paintings reflect the vibrant colors of Mexico, combined with the flair of show business, providing a new creative outlet for this multi-talented individual.
