He began his acting journey at the tender age of 10, making his professional stage debut with the Durban Academy of Speech & Drama. After honing his craft, Robert returned to Britain in 1975, where he graduated from the prestigious National Film & Television School while working as a journalist at the BBC.

In 1987, Robert made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, a move that would ultimately lead to a successful career in Hollywood. As he put it, "The moment I set foot in town, I felt completely at home." Since then, Robert has played a wide range of characters, from American roles in TV shows like "The Spoils of Babylon" and "Chuzhoe Litso" to international characters in movies like "Sink Hole" and video games like the "Star Wars" and "World of Warcraft" series.

Robert's remarkable ability to adopt different accents and dialects has been a hallmark of his career, with notable performances including a German voice for Einstein in Disney's "Kickin' It" and an Aussie voice in "Touch". He has also played iconic figures like Rupert Murdoch on Fox's "Talkshow" and Scots golfing legend Old Tom Morris in GolfNow TV commercials.
