Robert Lonsdale's early life was shaped by his upbringing on a farm in Marsden, West Yorkshire, where his passion for acting was ignited at the tender age of eight. This nascent interest in the performing arts would eventually lead him to pursue a formal education in drama at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, where he graduated in 2008.
As a recipient of the prestigious Carleton Hobbs Radio Award, Robert joined the BBC Radio Repertory Company, marking the beginning of his professional stage career. Throughout his journey, he has taken on a diverse range of roles, including Luke in "Brilliant Adventures," which earned him a Best Actor Award, and Robert E Lee Prewitt in "From Here to Eternity," for which he received a Best Actor Nomination.
Robert's impressive stage credits also include appearing alongside esteemed actors Mark Rylance and David Hyde Pierce on Broadway in "La Bete," as well as starring at the Royal Court in "Plaques and Tangles." His television work has garnered him recognition for his roles as Connor in E4's BAFTA award-winning "Chewing Gum" and Tommy in the BBC's eight-part series "The Interceptor."
Beyond his acting career, Robert is also a talented musician and songwriter. He currently resides in London and is a devoted supporter of Tottenham Hotspur.
