Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to parents Jo (Burden) and Rob Amell, who run a custom jewelry business, Robbie has a strong connection to his Canadian heritage. Interestingly, he shares a familial connection with actor Stephen Amell, who is his first cousin.
Robbie's early life was marked by a passion for hockey, which he started playing as a child, and he also has a knack for Muay Thai and break dancing, having taken lessons in these disciplines.
