Daniel's fascination with out-of-place characters, unique environments, and the peculiar rhythms of human conversation can be traced back to his childhood spent in Arkansas as a Canadian, and his summers in rural Ireland with his grandparents and extended family.
As a writer/director, Daniel's work is characterized by its exploration of a range of genres, all while maintaining a focus on human issues and the complex individuals who navigate them, as well as the hope and humor that can be found even in the darkest of circumstances.
One of Daniel's most notable projects is the true-story feature film "Miss Virginia," which stars Emmy-winner Uzo Aduba, Matthew Modine, and Vanessa Williams. The film received widespread critical acclaim, being listed as a New York Times and USA Today Must-See Fall Movie, and won the Audience Award at The Naples Film Festival.
In addition to his work on "Miss Virginia," Daniel has also made a name for himself as a screenwriter, with his social-issue-horror script "They Live on Skid Row" earning him a finalist spot in The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science's Nicholl Fellowship for Screenwriting, as well as wins in the Slamdance, ScriptPipeline, and Screencraft competitions.
As an editor, Daniel has worked on ten feature films, including the horror film "What Lies Below," which quickly became the number one film on Netflix, and the upcoming storm-chasing movie "Supercell" starring Alec Baldwin.
