Ritesh Shah, a multi-talented individual, commenced his academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the prestigious Hindu College, a period spanning from 1993 to 1996. He further augmented his knowledge by completing his Master's degree in Mass Communications from the esteemed MCRC, Jamia Milia Islamia.
Ritesh's creative inclinations led him to begin his career as a playwright with the renowned Act One Art Group in New Delhi. His notable works include the fringe award-winning play "Othello - A Play in Black and White". Subsequently, he transitioned to the television industry in 1999, garnering writing credits for shows such as "Josh", "Kashmeer", "Krishna Arjun", and the award-winning series "Kagaar".
Ritesh's foray into filmmaking commenced with his contributions to the dialogue of movies like "Kahaani" and "Namastey London". He then co-wrote films like "D-day" and "Airlift" before taking on solo screenplay and dialogue credits for films such as "B.A. Pass", "Citylights", "Force", the critically acclaimed "Pink", and "Raid".
Throughout his career, Ritesh has received numerous accolades and nominations, including a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Story for "B.A. Pass" and Best Screenplay for "D-day", for which he also received a Zee Cine Awards Nomination. He has won the Filmfare, Zee Cine, and Star Screen Awards for Best Dialogue for "Pink".
