Biography

Richard Lowry embarked on a cinematic journey, initially capturing life's moments on super 8 film as a young teenager. However, it was the influential experience of watching "Star Wars" that propelled him to dedicate himself to becoming a serious filmmaker.

Lowry's debut feature, "Hawk Jones", boasted an all-child cast and was meticulously crafted in his hometown of Moline, Illinois. This early endeavor has since garnered a devoted cult following, with "Hawk Jones" currently being showcased in movie theaters across the nation as part of the esteemed Alamo Drafthouse film circuit, as of August 2014.

Throughout his illustrious career, Lowry has directed a multitude of independent features, with several of his films being distributed globally. Notably, two of his projects were produced in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics. "Monarch of the Moon", a satirical ode to the 1940s serials, received high praise from renowned film critic Leonard Maltin, who compared it to the cinematic aspirations of "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow".

As Lowry completes his latest feature, "Dominion", he is simultaneously working on pre-production for another film, while several projects remain in development. One such project is an ambitious "ultimate Star Wars short fan film", a testament to Lowry's enduring passion for the iconic franchise.
