Richard Davis, a talented Canadian actor, hails from Toronto, Ontario, and currently resides in Los Angeles and Vancouver. His passion for the arts was evident from a very young age, as he began working on numerous commercials by the time he was just five years old. Moreover, he landed a recurring role on the esteemed HBO Canadian series, Good Dog, further solidifying his dedication to his craft.
It is fascinating to note that Davis's mentorship began at the tender age of four, when he met George Pastic, the Oscar-nominated director of the Violin (1974). Pastic's guidance and wisdom had a profound impact on Davis, and their relationship lasted until Pastic's unfortunate passing in 2014. Pastic's influence continues to shape Davis's artistic identity to this day.
While Davis has excelled in various dramatic roles, his true passion lies in comedy. His experience on HBO and his stand-up performances at The HaHa Comedy Club in North Hollywood and The Ice House in Pasadena, CA, serve as testament to his dedication to the art form.
Davis's educational background is equally impressive, as he graduated from Cool Beans University and Laughing Matters, and further honed his improvisational skills at The Groundlings, Second City, and Durham Improv. Additionally, he has a knack for hosting large events and has been the ongoing host and co-producer of Joey Awards TV in Vancouver, B.C., since 2019.
As a philanthropist at heart, Davis is deeply committed to giving back. His personal experience with his younger brother's adoption from an orphanage in Russia sparked a sense of empathy for the children remaining there, leading him to work tirelessly to fund the construction of a playground at the orphanage. When not pursuing his passion for comedy, Davis can be found writing about politics and history, often infusing his work with comedic undertones.
