New York-based actor Richard Brundage gained widespread recognition recently for his outstanding performance in the critically acclaimed film "Shiva Baby", alongside Rachel Sennott and Molly Gordon, and went on to win the prestigious Best Supporting Actor award at the Milan International Filmmaker Festival for his role in "Flesh is Heir To".
Born in Seattle, Richard spent his formative years in Woodbridge, Virginia, La Spezia, Italy, Providence, Rhode Island, and Falmouth, Massachusetts, with brief stints in various locations. As a teenager, he attended baseball camp and band camp, developing a passion for both. Prior to pursuing a career in acting, Richard explored various professions, including high-school math teacher, word-processing specialist, semi-professional French hornist, librarian, classical music engraver/editor, and amateur volleyball player.
At the age of 39, Richard took a leap of faith and enrolled in acting classes at HB Studio in Manhattan. He soon found himself fully immersed in the world of acting. Richard has since played leading roles in several feature films, including Lena Dunham's "Creative Nonfiction", Gorman Bechard's "You Are Alone", and Winn Coslick's "Fourhand". His extensive repertoire of over sixty indie roles has been showcased at film festivals worldwide.
Richard has had the privilege of working alongside renowned actors, including Lena Dunham, Bobby Moynihan, Margarita Levieva, Larry Joe Campbell, Toks Olagundoye, Austin Basis, Kate Lyn Sheil, and Tate Ellington. In addition to his film credits, Richard has appeared in numerous stage productions across the United States, including Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois. He has shared the stage with notable actors such as Anna Chlumsky, Vincent Piazza, and Jeremy Holm.
