Rich Newey is a multi-talented director, writer, editor, and producer with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He has worked with a diverse range of artists, including Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Akon, Sean Kingston, and many more.
Newey's directing career began in music videos, but he soon transitioned to commercials, working with brands such as Midway Games, General Motors, Adidas, and Proctor & Gamble. His commercial work primarily focused on lifestyle and he has directed campaigns for various products and services.
In television, Newey has worked on several shows, including NBC's "Blindspot", CBS's "God Friended Me", Freeform's "The Fosters", CW's "Beauty & The Beast", and CW's "Reign". He has also directed episodes of NBC's "Heroes Reborn" and Freeform's "Stitchers".
Newey has also worked on several feature films, including the indie dark comedy "Killing Eleanor", which he directed, edited, and produced. The film premiered at the Savannah Film Festival and won top honors.
As an editor, Newey has worked on several notable projects, including an Apple Spec Commercial that won the Gold Clio and an A.I.C.P Award, as well as the Shakira "Waka Waka" 3D music video, which premiered at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and has been viewed over 2.5 billion times on YouTube.
Newey is a resident of Vancouver, British Columbia, and holds dual citizenship in both Canada and the U.S. He is represented by Michael Kolodny at the Kaplan-Stahler Agency in the U.S. and Ben Silverman at Integral Artists in Canada.
