Biography

Renell was born and raised in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, where he spent his formative years developing his unique perspective and artistic inclinations.

Over the course of the past decade, Renell has had the opportunity to study with a diverse array of esteemed acting teachers, thereby acquiring a comprehensive understanding of multiple acting techniques and methodologies.

Throughout his illustrious career, Renell has appeared in a wide range of film and television productions, showcasing his impressive range and versatility as a performer.

One of his most notable roles was as Jay in the 2016 film Barbershop: The Next Cut, which was directed by the acclaimed Malcolm D. Lee and went on to gross over 55 million dollars worldwide. The film also won the prestigious All Def Movie Award in 2017 for Best Squadd in a Motion Picture.

In 2017, Renell took on the role of James Hick in The Case for Christ, a film directed by Jon Gunn that received multiple nominations, including the Best Film for Families award at the 2018 MovieGuide Awards and the Dove Inspirational Film of the Year Award in 2017.

Renell is also recognized for his portrayal of Larry in the 2013 VH1 biopic Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story, which was directed by Charles Stone III and told the inspiring story of the legendary musical trio.
