Rebecca was born and raised on a farm outside Wooster, Ohio, where she was surrounded by the rich values of her educators parents. Her upbringing was marked by a strong sense of community and a deep appreciation for the importance of education, which would later shape her own academic and professional pursuits.
Rebecca's family was filled with talented individuals, including her brother, a renowned scientist and Doctor of Organic Chemistry, who has made significant contributions to his field. This exposure to intellectual curiosity and achievement likely influenced Rebecca's own decision to pursue a career in the arts.
Rebecca's academic journey took her to Florida State and Kent State Universities, where she honed her skills and developed a passion for the performing arts. She later joined the Master's Training program with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, which provided her with invaluable experience and training in the classical theatre tradition.
Rebecca's impressive stage credits include her work in the original Broadway company of Aaron Sorkin's acclaimed production of 'To Kill A Mockingbird', alongside Jeff Daniels and Ed Harris. She also had the opportunity to star as Madeline Bassett in Alan Ayckbourn and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway production of 'By Jeeves'. Her other notable stage credits include Berkeley Rep's World Premiere of 'To The Lighthouse', directed by Les Waters, which earned an American Theatre Critics Nomination; A.C.T.'s production of 'The Realistic Joneses'; the World Premiere musical at Signature Theatre VA, 'And The Curtain Rises'; multiple Shakespeare productions, including Gertrude in 'Hamlet' at the Denver Center, Beatrice in 'Much Ado About Nothing' at the Pioneer Theatre, and Titania/Hippolyta in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at the Rep of St. Louis; and leading roles in 'Me and My Girl' and '1776' at the renowned Goodspeed Opera House.
In addition to her extensive stage experience, Rebecca has also made a name for herself in the world of gaming, starring as Black Belle in Red Dead Redemption II.
Rebecca is married to actor Randall Newsome, with whom she shares a deep understanding and appreciation for the arts.
