Raymond "Ray" Rowe, a renowned American professional wrestler, has made a lasting impact in the world of wrestling. His most notable achievements came as part of the tag team War Machine, alongside his partner Hanson, in Ring of Honor. This dynamic duo claimed the prestigious titles of ROH World Tag Team Champions and IWGP Tag Team Champions.
Rowe's wrestling journey began in May 2003, when he debuted on the independent circuit. He received training from the experienced Josh Prohibition and Lou Marconi, laying the foundation for his future success.
In November 2016, War Machine made their highly anticipated debut in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) by participating in the 2016 World Tag League. Although they finished the tournament with a respectable record of four wins and three losses, they unfortunately failed to advance to the finals.
The duo's impressive performance in NJPW caught the attention of fans and officials alike, leading to a series of notable matches. On April 9, 2017, War Machine triumphed over Tencozy, claiming the IWGP Tag Team Championship at Sakura Genesis 2017. However, their reign was short-lived, as they lost the title to Guerrillas of Destiny on June 11 at Dominion 6.11 in Osaka-jo Hall.
War Machine regained the championship in a no disqualification match on July 1 at G1 Special in USA. Unfortunately, they lost the title once again to Killer Elite Squad in a three-way match, also involving Guerrillas of Destiny, on September 24 at Destruction in Kobe.
In addition to their Ring of Honor and NJPW endeavors, Rowe and Hanson made their Japanese debut for Pro Wrestling Noah on September 14, 2015. They teamed with Takashi Sugiura in a six-man tag team main event, defeating Suzuki-gun. This led to a GHC Tag Team Championship match five days later, where War Machine unfortunately came up short against Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer.
