Rakshit Shetty is a multifaceted Indian artist, distinguished by his versatility as an actor, writer, producer, and filmmaker, with a notable achievement of winning two prestigious Filmfare awards.
Born and raised in Udupi, Shetty pursued his graduation in Electronics and Communications Engineering at N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte, Karkala. His initial foray into the film industry began with short films, including Let's Kill Gandhi and other unreleased projects.
Shetty's acting career took off with his debut film Nam Areal Ond Dina in 2010, followed by Tuglak in 2012. However, it was Simple Agi Ondh Love Story in 2013, a romantic comedy, that garnered immense popularity and marked a significant turning point in his career.
Subsequently, Shetty ventured into direction with the crime thriller Ulidavaru Kandanthe in 2014, which earned him critical acclaim and two prestigious awards, including the Director's First Time Best Film by the Karnataka State Film Awards and the Best Director award by the Filmfare Awards South.
Throughout his career, Shetty has featured in a wide range of films, including Vaasthu Prakaara, Jaathre, Ricky, Jigar Thanda, and Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, showcasing his acting prowess and adaptability.
In addition to his acting credits, Shetty has also ventured into production and writing, with the successful film Kirik Party in 2016, in which he starred alongside Rashmika Mandanna.
In 2019, Shetty appeared in two movies, Padde Huli and Avane Srimannarayana, before taking on the role of a producer with the film 777 Charlie in 2022, which was directed by Kiranraj K under Paramvah Studios. The movie's storyline revolves around the relationship between humans and their pets, featuring Charlie, a Labrador, in a crucial role.
Shetty's recent projects include Saptha Sagaradaache Ello - Side A and Richard Anthony. Throughout his illustrious career, he has garnered a total of 14 awards and 22 nominations.
