Rajeev Sigamoney and Dan Ewald, a dynamic duo in the world of writing and producing, embarked on their creative journey with "The Room", a spec pilot shot over a weekend in 2004 on the CBS Radford lot. This ambitious project, featuring Tony Hale, Debra Jo Rupp, and Laura Silverman, caught the attention of Endeavor, securing them representation.
Undeterred, the pair continued to push the boundaries of their craft, developing a spec pilot titled "The Captain", starring an impressive ensemble cast including Jennifer Coolidge, Wanda Sykes, Cheryl Hines, and Kathy Griffin. As they built a talent base of their favorite comedic actors, they signed a deal with Hazy Mills and Paramount, which took the project to networks. In 2007, Ewald and Sigamoney lent their writing and producing expertise to a segment of "The Jimmy Kimmel Show", featuring Tim Bagley as "The Captain" and Mindy Sterling as his wife Nedra, which aired on ABC.
Their prolific output continued with writing for the Disney Channel and selling a comedy pilot to FUSE. Moreover, they executive produced a 10-episode series for Comcast, aptly titled "The Mascots", which boasted a near-$1 million dollar budget.
In a bold move, they independently produced the web series "Jesus People", which garnered an impressive 500,000 YouTube viewers. The project's success spawned the feature film "Jesus People: The Movie", which received widespread acclaim on the festival circuit in 2009. The film played at esteemed festivals such as the Friar's Club Comedy Festival in New York City, the L.A. Film Festival, and numerous others across the United States, including Tennessee, Michigan, Montana, and Florida.
