Biography

Raine Brown's love for performing was evident from a young age, even before she held a script or stepped onto a stage. Growing up, her parents affectionately nicknamed her "Sarah Bernhardt" due to her dramatic tendencies. Despite occasional outbursts, Raine didn't professionally pursue acting as a child.

Her interest in acting developed during her high school years, where she was able to channel her emotions into a structured format through the school's theatre program. Her passion for the stage was intense, leading her to not only star in shows and take acting classes but also seek out other acting programs in New Jersey.

Through the New Jersey School of the Arts program, Raine took advanced acting classes and honed her craft. She was also selected as a Governor's School of the Arts candidate, an honor that allowed her to live with other talented students and share in the joy of artistic creation. With this recognition, Raine knew she could achieve success as an artist beyond her hometown.

After graduating as salutatorian of her high school, Raine was accepted into Montclair State University, where she earned a BFA in acting. During this period, she deepened her love for Shakespeare's works and began to study them more seriously in her classes. She transferred her knowledge into her performances with the Hudson Shakespeare Company, playing many of Shakespeare's heroines.

Raine also had the opportunity to take on one of her dream roles, Laura, in "The Glass Menagerie" at the Nutley Little Theatre. She worked with the professional theatre group 12 Miles West in their production of "A Child's Christmas in Whales" and starred in the play "A Most Irish Proposal Indeed" as the lead, Marie, with the Little Theatre.

In addition to her stage work, Raine has appeared on TV in "Sex and the City" and "Strangers with Candy." She has also hosted the New York's Village Halloween Parade and has been featured in numerous independent films, including "Horror," "Satan's Playground," "Woods of Evil," "Maya's Soul," "Aunt Rose," "Street Revenge," "Barricade," "The 9th Circle," "Plasterhead," "Angel's Blade," and "100 Tears."
