Rainbow Underhill is an American actress, singer, composer, and performance artist of mixed decent, including Mexican and Caucasian. Born in Petaluma, California, she began her interest in acting as an adolescent by accompanying her father on his lighting design gigs in San Francisco theater. Rainbow graduated from Sir Francis Drake High School and attended College of Marin before relocating to Los Angeles. She holds a BFA in acting from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
Rainbow's recent work includes the short film "An American Dream" set in the 1960's, where she plays the assistant to the founder of Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, she appeared in the Indy comedy film "Hollywood Fringe" (2020),a site-specific play about two married actors' unsuccessful life in Hollywood, which takes a turn for success and gain momentum.
On stage, Rainbow made her professional debut as Fanchette in the A.C.T. production of "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. She has also performed in numerous productions with the Shakespeare Festival/LA, including "The Tempest", "Hauntings", and "Henry IV parts 1 and 2". Other notable stage work includes roles with Zoo District theatre, "The Bloody Chamber", and "Home", as well as "The Defenders" at the Ford Amphitheater.
Rainbow has also had a successful singing career, performing with her band Black Cat Gallery at various venues, including the Regent Theater, UCLA's Schoenberg Hall, and the Continental Gallery. She has also appeared on reality television shows such as "The Search for the Next Elvira".
As a performance artist, Rainbow has performed at various museums and galleries, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Modern Art (LACMA),the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA),and the BGH Gallery.
