Biography

Rafael Amaya was born on February 28, 1977, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Growing up, he was involved in sports, theater, and music from a young age.

After high school, Amaya moved to San Diego, California, to pursue his university studies. He later returned to Mexico and began participating in various musical groups and bands.

In 1999, Amaya joined the musical group "Garibaldi" and gained popularity with the group. However, he eventually left the group and shifted his focus to acting.

Amaya's acting career began with the soap opera "La casa en la playa" in 2000, followed by "Sin pecado concebido" in 2001, and "Salomé" in 2001. His role in "Salomé" brought him significant fame.

In 2002, Amaya won a nomination for "Men's Revelation" at the Premios El Heraldo. He continued to act in various soap operas, including "To love again" and "Two Sides of Ana".

Amaya has also appeared in several films, including "Naked" and "So the precipice", in which he performed frontal nudity. He has also participated in short films and has had roles in various television series.

In 2011, Amaya joined the cast of the telenovela "La Reina del Sur" and shared credit with Kate del Castillo. He also appeared in the Spanish series "Hospital Central" and "Doctor Mateo".

From 2013 to 2018, Amaya starred in the successful production "El Señor de los Cielos", for which he won an International Emmy in 2014 and a Premios Tu Mundo award in 2014.
