R Scott Hoffman, also known as Scott, was born on March 16, 1957, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to C A Hoffman, Sr and Lillie Mae Hardiman Hoffman. As a young individual, Scott showcased exceptional abilities in both sports and academics, setting the stage for a promising future.
Scott's educational background is marked by academic excellence, having attended Wake Forest University and subsequently graduating with honors from Appalachian State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in accounting. During his college years, he was an active participant in football, rugby, and even served as a professional ski instructor.
Upon completing his education, Scott pursued a career in the financial services industry, where he achieved great success over a 35-year span with renowned companies such as Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, and J P Morgan. Throughout his tenure, he earned esteemed professional certifications, including being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA),as well as holding various investment securities licenses.
Following his retirement from the financial services industry, Scott relocated to Hollywood to be closer to his two daughters. It was during this time that he was continually encouraged by members of the entertainment industry to explore his acting talents. Initially hesitant, Scott eventually agreed to audition and, to his surprise, booked his first role. He went on to book his second audition and discovered an unwavering passion for performing.
In just his first three years as an actor, Scott has secured leading roles in feature films, television shows, short films, and even recurred on a top-ranked cable TV series that airs on the BET network, titled The Family Business.
